We have an exciting opportunity for a
Mechanical Estimator
to become part of a well-established company in the mechanical contracting field. This is your chance to work with a team that prides itself on delivering exceptional service and fostering strong relationships with clients while maintaining a positive work atmosphere. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in assessing the costs associated with mechanical systems for upcoming projects. Your responsibilities will include evaluating schedules, materials, and labor needed for successful project completion. You will also learn about our competitive advantages and communicate these effectively during the bidding and proposal process. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the mechanical bid process, including general conditions, HVAC, process piping, ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel. Conduct cost comparisons and analysis. Establish and maintain relationships with trustworthy trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Accurately estimate costs of all mechanical plans, including precise quantity take-offs. Create project schedules and define task durations. Eager to learn and adapt to new construction techniques and market trends. Set and monitor budgets throughout all phases of construction. Identify innovative cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures. Keep track of plan modifications. Update estimated prices based on changes. Manage subcontractor solicitations as required. Draft subcontractor scopes of work effectively. Interpret and understand Contract Drawings and Specifications proficiently. Maintain knowledge of industry competitive advantages to enhance the bidding process. Assist in creating submittals and work alongside project managers during the pre-construction phase. Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant construction experience is preferred. Willingness to travel to job sites as necessary. Availability to work evenings or weekends if required.
