About the role The Vice President of the Private Business Division/Interim Client Marketing Communications Service Area Lead is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for helping secure private business accounts, managing and expanding client relationships, including client experience, retention, and account growth across the Division. You will serve as the strategic advisor, growth driver and trusted liaison between the client and our internal teams. This role is a builder of relationships, business strategist and operational leader. This position reports to the Chief Client Officer. Private Business is a new division and important to the agency’s growth and diversification. In partnership with the Head of Growth, this division will help secure work in the private sector. As the Interim Client Marketing Communications Service Area Lead, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering integrated marketing and communications services and solutions for PRR’s clients across sectors, including transportation, environment, healthcare and private brands. What you’ll do
Key Responsibilities/VP Private Business Strategic Client Leadership : Build a new division, partnering with agency leaders to secure new work to deliver on internal revenue goals. Empower a results-driven client leadership team, with performance standards tied to new business, retention, satisfaction, and growth. Oversee end-to-end delivery of client work, ensuring quality, timeliness, and satisfaction. Resolve escalations with a solution-oriented mindset. Lead the strategic growth of accounts in the Private Business Division, identifying opportunities to expand our footprint and deliver added value. Use client insights and feedback to inform agency-wide strategy. Client Retention & Experience Excellence : Serve as the senior point of contact for client stakeholders — building trust, ensuring alignment, and representing the voice of the client within the organization. Partner with the Chief Client Officer to oversee the full client lifecycle, from acquisition through renewal, ensuring growth and satisfaction on all Private Business clients. Oversee end-to-end delivery of client work, ensuring quality, timeliness, and satisfaction. Resolve escalations with a solution-oriented mindset. Use feedback loops and data analysis to proactively reduce churn and improve loyalty. Revenue Impact & Account Growth : Build the portfolio of Private Business work. And eventually drive organic revenue growth through service expansion, upsell, and cross-sell for the portfolio. Work with finance and operations and the Chief Client Officer to establish clear KPIs tied to new business, retention, satisfaction, and profitability, including driving PRR’s target revenue goals and profit margin - increasing company revenue fee by 10% year over year, and achieving and maintaining a minimum net profit of 10% on all projects. Drive utilization on team to meet and exceed company and team member goals. Collaborate with C-suite leaders to reduce overhead rate for the agency based on set goals. Collaborate with the CGO, BD leaders, CFOO and CEO to ensure account growth aligns with firm-wide goals. Data-Informed Decision Making : Use real-time analytics and client insights to drive decisions and service improvements. Link team performance directly to metrics like Net Promoter Scores, Customer Lifetime Value, and renewal rates. Cross-Functional Executive Collaboration : Partner with CCO, CFOO, CGO, and other leaders to embed client strategy into operations, including pricing, account retention, KPIs and company growth strategies. Facilitate collaboration to ensure service delivery aligns with strategic account goals. Team Leadership & Development : Manage and mentor a team of client leads and account managers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and growth. Lead a lean but high-impact client services and account strategy team. Drive a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement across the client-facing organization. Business Development : Proactively identify and convert new and organic growth opportunities, leading pitches, proposals, and negotiations alongside business development, finance and operations, strategy, research and insights, creative, community engagement and other key internal service providers. Key Responsibilities/ Marketing Communications Lead : Build, evolve and deliver PRR’s suite of marketing and communications offerings to meet emerging client needs in digital media platforms, social, paid media, influencer marketing and public education, content, media relations, internal communications, crisis communications, issues management, brand reputation, thought leadership and other services. Serve as a senior advisor and thought leader for clients and internal teams on communications, strategy, messaging and brand positioning. Direct, manage, and mentor the marketing and communications team, and coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and consultants. Qualifications
12+ years of client management experience within strategic communications, marketing, creative, digital, media, PR, content or technology-driven agencies or consultancies. Experience securing, leading and growing large scale private business accounts. Deep client relationships and excellent networking abilities. Executive presence with cross-functional influence leading in fast-paced, client-facing situations. Data fluency and client relationship excellence. Bachelor\'s degree required; advanced degree a plus. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity-centered leadership and inclusive client engagement. This role offers a salary range between$ 225,000 - $275,000
