The Director Engineering & Design Management, also known as the Global Engineering Director, is responsible for leading The Facility Services global engineering organization. This position manages a team of multi-disciplinary engineers supporting semiconductor, biopharma, data center, and other advanced technology clients worldwide. The Director ensures technical excellence, innovation, and standardization across all engineering disciplines while aligning global capabilities to meet evolving market needs. This role acts as the strategic and operational leader for engineering resources—driving productization of services, development of new technologies, and delivery of scalable engineering solutions that enable Exentec’s growth in Technical Facility Management.

Ensures company safety policies and the Site-Specific Plan are proactively communicated and consistently enforced on all projects

Attracts and retains premier talent through recruiting, mentoring, training, and other employee development activities across multiple regions and technical disciplines

Drive employee development, succession planning, and performance management for all engineering staff

Ensure alignment of individual capabilities and training with current and future market and client requirements

Oversee the productization of services, technical standards, and best practices for all Facility Services service lines

Manage engineering deliverables to ensure schedule, quality, and budget compliance

Champion innovation, productization of services, and deployment of standardized engineering tools

Partner with Operations Management to ensure the site delivery follows the service line model, provide advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical auditing support

Support Business Development with technical input, proposal review, pursuit strategy and presentations for new opportunities

Collaborate with global EHS, Quality, and Training teams to ensure full integration of engineering standards into field execution

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce engineering costs

Contribute to the strategic planning process for global expansion, service diversification, and technology adoption

Utilize data to identify trends that may impact service delivery, work with sites to develop mitigation plans, share learning/drive improvements with other sites

Responsible for providing a balance of support, guidance, empowerment, and accountability of the department’s staff

Manages annual forecast projections, financial performance assessment, and ongoing staffing and utilization forecasts

Establishes and maintains a succession strategy for key positions including the Director in the discipline

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred

Experience as a Facility Engineer is preferred

Professional Engineering (PE) License required

10+ years of experience in Semiconductor Facilities; experience in BLS, Data Centers or other High Tech facility environments is possible

4+ years of Management experience

Ability to inspire, direct and manage others

Ability to manage a multi-office organization

Able to manage discipline-specific consultants as required by projects; developing master service agreements and scopes of work for project contracts

Demonstrated ability managing at least five direct reports

Excellent general understanding of related engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, process systems, automation, structural and architectural

Experience working directly with clients and internal team leads for active change management through all phases of project development

Experience in leading proposal development

Experience should include examples of promoting a strong Safety Culture, including incorporation of Safety in Design

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Travel Requirement: 25-50%
