As Director of Software Engineering (M4), you will lead a high-impact team delivering deep research capabilities including conversational analytics, cohort building, and multi-step agent workflows that operate over governed RWD and customer BYOD assets with rigorous security, audit, and data lifecycle controls. You’ll define strategy, build and scale cloud services, integrate with platform components, and run “always-on” operations.

Responsibilities
Join a team at the ground level and help build scalable cloud-native services
Hire, grow, and lead impactful, distributed engineering teams; foster a culture of reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Work across the organization to define and provide inputs to the technology strategy, infrastructure and architecture vision that supports the successful execution of the product roadmap and business strategy
Take ownership of defining and driving roadmaps for critical customer facing capabilities
Be the point of contact for service critical issues and drive Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and technical leads to steer the team towards continuous delivery and improvement
Directly and indirectly manage globally distributed engineering team that is fast growing
Allocate resources, set priorities, and manage schedules for the team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field or relevant experience.
12+ years in software engineering (2+ years building cloud services) with a track record of architecting and shipping complex, low-latency, scalable systems.
5+ years of senior engineering management leading multiple teams, including globally distributed teams, with strong hiring and org-building experience.
Deep expertise in distributed systems, operating SaaS/managed services at scale with on-call and incident leadership.
Proven experience running production operations with security, compliance, observability, and DR disciplines.
Strong knowledge of large-scale compute, networking, and storage.
Preferred Qualifications
MS in CS/EE or equivalent experience.
Hands-on AI/ML platform experience: designing and operating LLM/agentic systems (planning, tool use, trace logging), retrieval/RAG over structured and unstructured data, vector indexing, prompt/trace governance, and evaluation pipelines
Compliance-by-design in regulated environments: immutable audit trails, dataset/code lineage and versioning, zero data retention policies, governed exports, and point-in-time replay
Cloud architecture experience and multi-cloud patterns for secure, scalable services
Enterprise security expertise: SSO, role- and attribute-based access controls, network segmentation, encryption in transit/at rest, secure BYOD connectors, and tenancy isolation for customer data
Healthcare/real-world data platform familiarity: EHR-derived datasets, governed catalogs/lineage, and integration patterns across platform teams
Experience with heterogeneous databases, large-scale compute/storage, and streaming/batch processing; strong observability, SRE, and disaster recovery practices
Proven success leading and scaling globally distributed engineering teams and partnering with Product and Applied Science on measurable AI/ML outcomes
