Schneider’s Field Service Representatives (FSRs) play an impactful role within the organization by collaborating with customers, team members, and third‑party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair and preventive maintenance on Company and third‑party equipment in a variety of environments. They are problem solvers, customer focused, and passionate about the work they do. This position is site-based with occasional nonstandard hours.
We provide direct product training and training on all digital and physical tools associated with the work. Schneider Electric supplies service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily professional use. The role focuses on servicing equipment supporting Cooling and HVAC&R infrastructure within our U.S. Services business.
Responsibilities
Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment
Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams
Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
Work with your Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues
Continuous learning and training on various products in the field and in the classroom
On-some-days may include
Travel throughout the region for local or countrywide support, including overnight travel by vehicle or air
Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start-ups
Collaborate with larger teams of FSRs and Project Managers on higher complexity projects
Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as required
Qualifications
An Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training or similar experience in HVAC&R-related disciplines
Thorough understanding of HVAC&R service principles and how they relate to electrical work
3–5 years of HVAC&R Service experience, ideally servicing complex equipment
Universal EPA certification and strong understanding of refrigeration, chillers, hydronics, and controls are a plus
2+ years in Field Services or equivalent industry experience
Good safety practices and adherence to the company’s safety procedures/policies (lock out tag out, safety trainings)
Identify hazards present in the work area and report safety matters, incidents, or near misses
NFPA-70E or OSHA experience preferred
Safe driving and vehicle operation skills
Ability to use test and diagnostic equipment
Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals
English proficiency for customer and team communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate company digital tools
Ability to write service reports and correspondence, present information, and respond to customer questions
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (bending, stooping, lifting up to 40 pounds)
Work outdoors in varied environments (heat, cold, rain, dust) and remain standing for extended periods
What we have for you Within your first 180 days, you’ll experience eight weeks of in-person training at our state‑of‑the‑art training facility in Dallas, TX, with all expenses paid. After training, you’ll continue with online training and will be paired with a local mentor for on‑the‑job onboarding.
