The Position
The High School Family Engagement and Student Enrollment Specialist
will work as part of the Prospect Schools Student Recruitment and Enrollment (SRE) Team and will play a pivotal role in achieving full enrollment for Brooklyn Prospect High School (BPHS) as it transitions to its new home at 181 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn in Fall 2026 and scales from 800 students to 1200 students over the next 4 years. This position requires exceptional inter-personal skill, organization, strategic thinking, and an ability to effectively communicate the unique value of our IB World School program to rising prospect eighth graders and prospective families. As a representative of the Prospect Schools mission, this role will focus exclusively on filling all available high school seats with a diverse student body prepared for the rigorous International Baccalaureate program and college success.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Enrollment and Outreach : Cultivating strong relationships within and outside of Prospect Schools to ensure a strong, sustainable enrollment pipeline for Brooklyn Prospect High School
Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to achieve full enrollment at Brooklyn Prospect High School, with particular focus on filling seats in the new 181 Livingston Street building
Manage inquiries from general public, prospective and admitted families specifically interested in high school enrollment
Internal Recruitment :
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with Prospect Schools Middle Schools to ensure high levels of Prospect Schools students’ persistence from 8th grade to 9th grade
External Outreach :
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with external middle schools, community organizations, and local businesses to promote mutually beneficial partnerships and strengthen the high school recruitment pipeline
Research and analyze enrollment trends specific to high school-aged students to inform recruitment strategy and identify untapped markets
Family Engagement and Communication : Ensure prospective families and students feel informed, connected, and experience excellent customer service throughout the enrollment process
Serve as primary point of contact for prospective high school families, articulating the benefits of the IB Diploma program, college preparatory curriculum, and the advantages of the new Downtown Brooklyn location
Plan and execute a minimum of 3 monthly events, such as information sessions, open houses, school tours, and other special events during enrollment season months, specifically designed for prospective high school families and rising Prospect Schools’ 8th graders
Facilitate translation of all external webinars, information sessions, tours, and marketing materials to ensure accessibility for non-English speaking families
Manage communication logs to ensure prompt follow-up with prospective families, including admission invites, post-lottery communication, and new student on-boarding
Support non-native English speaking applicant families through the admissions process with culturally responsive guidance
In alignment with Prospect Schools network family engagement approach, create and lead the execution of a vision for comprehensive family onboarding and orientation to the BPHS and larger Prospect Schools community. The vision should serve the dual purpose of guiding new families throughout the process and preparing new students for a successful high school career at BPHS.
Event Coordination and Marketing : Plan and execute enrollment events that allow prospective families and students to engage with BPHS in many different ways
Plan, coordinate, and execute high school-specific recruitment events, including open houses, shadow days, IB program showcases, and community engagement events
Collaborate with high school leadership and network communications and marketing team to develop compelling marketing materials that highlight BPHS's benefits, including 100% college admission rate, IB program excellence, extra-curricular programs, and new building amenities
Organize and promote events that showcase student achievement, college admissions success, and the transformative educational experience at BPHS
Coordinate marketing efforts including video, print materials, and social media
Data Management and Collaboration : Continuously measure progress to enrollment goals and recommend strategic adjustments to stay on target
Manage student applications and enrollment journeys with focus on increasing conversion rates
Manage new student registration
Create queries and exports, produce reports, and perform data analysis using the organization's enrollment system to monitor progress toward enrollment goals
Collaborate with high school-based staff to finalize key dates for admissions calendar and ensure alignment with building transition timeline
Track and report on recruitment metrics, conversion rates, and enrollment progress toward capacity goals
About You
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Strong alignment to Prospect Schools' mission and commitment to intentionally diverse, college-preparatory education
3-5 years working experience in admissions, enrollment management, family engagement, or customer service in an educational setting
Experience with high school admissions or enrollment management and understanding of NYC high school admissions landscape and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present compelling information to diverse audiences
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent customer service/customer management skills
Strong data management, analysis, tracking and monitoring skills
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the International Baccalaureate program and its benefits
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with network and school-based teams
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish
Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot strongly preferred)
Experience with admissions software or enrollment databases
Experience working with adolescents and their families
