
Responsibilities
Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs. Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. May provide technical guidance and oversee a team of Junior Architects and Designers. Technical lead for all phases of the project, including project initiation and setup, surveying, construction document drawings, and construction administration. Comprehensive space surveys and as-built drawings. Independent production of Construction Documents, including Specifications and MEP Coordination. Interior and Exterior construction detailing. Review drawings for accuracy, including building code, scope of work, and design intent. Research related to Building Code related and technical design. Construction Administration tasks, including reviewing/logging shop drawings, submittals, RFIs. Attend construction field visits and generate reports. Performing punch list and post occupancy reports. Client interface and relationship building. Lead client meetings when assigned. Qualifications
5-7 years of professional full-time experience. A Bachelor’s in Architecture or Master’s in Architecture from a NAAB accredited institution. On the path to licensure. Proficient knowledge of National Building Codes (IBC), Life Safety, Accessibility Guidelines. Knowledge of BOMA a plus. Able to lead a production team on technical construction documents. Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture. Proficient in production of CD sets in Revit a plus. Working knowledge of Adobe suite, Photoshop, and InDesign. Excellent in Microsoft Office suite. Excels in a fast-paced work-setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on tasks. Conflict resolution skills, understanding resolving issues that arise while keeping in mind client’s needs, budget, scope and contract. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, being able to work with a team and mentored by a PM. Able to mentor junior architectural designers. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to commute to Morristown is required. Salary based on individual experience and past project types.
