HR Subject Matter Expert - HR Service Delivery Mindset
The Senior HR Specialist role focuses on ensuring organizational compliance with employment laws and regulations and on implementing and executing HR strategies to hire, onboard, train and retain quality talent at IREX. This includes management of a domestic and international benefits and compensation program; fostering positive employee relations and maintaining consistent HR policies and practices; conflict resolution and acting as a thought partner to managers and staff at a complex global organization. The role partners with the Senior Director Human Resources and the Benefits and HR Operations Specialist to support day-to-day HR functions and strategic initiatives. The position is housed in the Global Human Resources (GHR) Group and reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
Salary The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Please note that while we aim to offer competitive compensation, not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.

Responsibilities The Senior HR Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring organizational compliance with employment laws and regulations and is charged with implementing and executing HR strategies to hire, onboard, train and retain quality talent at IREX. Responsibilities include:
Manage a domestic and international benefits and compensation program; foster positive employee relations and maintain consistent HR policies and practices; handle conflict resolution and act as a thought partner to managers and staff at a complex global organization.
Assist the Senior Director Human Resources in managing human resources to advance the IREX mission; partner closely with the Benefits and HR Operations Specialist to support day-to-day HR functions and strategic initiatives.
Support day-to-day HR operations within the Global Human Resources (GHR) group.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to effectively support the Senior Director Human Resources in managing human resources to advance the IREX mission in areas of talent management, benefits administration, compensation, recruitment strategies, onboarding, departures, etc.
Ability to manage a US, Expatriate and Third Country National (TCN) employee benefits program including evaluating and working with brokers and vendors and staying current on benefit trends.
Ability to provide support and guidance to Global HR staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
Ability to develop and implement efficient and effective workflow processes for HR services.
Stays abreast of best practices in compensation management, talent recruitment, onboarding and development, and regulatory compliance and HR policy.
Maintains up-to-date personnel policies, procedures, and guides, and HR related systems.
Ability to appropriately manage HR records as required by federal, state and local regulations.
Monitors compliance with regulatory requirements and IREX policies and practices organization-wide and takes necessary action to address gaps or inconsistencies.
Responds to employee inquiries promptly and accurately.
Ability to multi-task and manage other duties as assigned.
Highly collaborative and able to establish positive working relationships with all team members and stakeholders to maximize cooperation and productivity.
Demonstrated commitment and experience developing and providing effective, mission-oriented, and compliant HR support.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology or equivalent
Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience; 10+ preferred
Poised, polished, with absolute integrity - unafraid to jump in the trenches to get the job done
Career experience working for an international employer is preferred; experience working for an NGO is a huge plus
Professional certification (i.e., SHRM-CP, or PHR) preferred
Highly collaborative and able to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders
High proficiency with HR and Recruitment-related technologies is a must; ideally with UKG, Salesforce, and SharePoint
Your Daily Tasks
Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace issues.
Talent acquisition and onboarding of US based staff for DC office.
Investigate and resolve employee complaints, conflicts, and grievances.
Support performance management processes and disciplinary actions.
Ensure that personnel policies, procedures, guides, and systems are maintained and updated as needed.
Partner with HR Operations Specialist to ensure benefits procurement and billing, employee inquiries are managed; ensure HR records are retained and managed, and complete required state and federal reporting; create and deliver monthly metrics to Sr Director HR on Employee Relations activities and attrition.
Provide training to staff and managers, US and country offices.
