
Our client is a rapidly expanding real estate company with a growing national footprint, with offices located in New York, NY. The team has been growing exponentially and are looking to add a Staff Accountant to their corporate accounting team. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic group and gain broad exposure across core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and accruals, This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a growing environment, and wants to continue building a strong accounting foundation within the real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
Support the processing of accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and vendor payments
Assist with accounts receivable activities such as billings, cash applications, and aging analysis
Prepare and maintain expense accruals and supporting schedules
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial records
Maintain strong documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Support ad-hoc accounting and reporting projects as the company continues to scale
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate, property, or corporate accounting
Hands-on experience with AP and AR processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Excel; experience with real estate or accounting systems is a plus
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
