We are seeking a motivated
Junior Civil Estimator
to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with early career experience in heavy civil or commercial construction who is looking to transition into an estimating role and build a long-term career with an established contractor. The ideal candidate will bring field or project engineering experience, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn the estimating process through hands-on training and mentorship. Responsibilities
Assist senior estimators with quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation. Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Support pricing of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes. Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes. Help develop bid summaries and proposal packages. Maintain organized estimating files and databases. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed. Collaborate with project management and operations teams to validate assumptions and production rates. Qualifications
1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role with a heavy civil contractor or commercial general contractor. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Strong interest in developing a career in construction estimating. Basic understanding of construction means and methods. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills. Exposure to estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.) is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and take direction. What We Offer
