The UNC Lenoir Health Clinical Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for planning for and ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in Perioperative Services, and other areas as needed and assigned by the Supply Chain Director. The Specialist will ensure adequate inventory is maintained in a cost-effective and efficient manner, oversee a single staff member, and review OR patient supply charges. Responsibilities
Ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in Perioperative Services (and other areas as assigned). Maintain adequate inventory in a cost-effective manner utilizing UNC System, GPO and local contracts when available. Review OR patient supply charges. Pulling supplies for OR cases. Establish and maintain uniformity and accuracy of Par Station locations and/or perpetual inventories. Manage consignment inventories pertaining to Perioperative Services (and other areas as applicable). Coordinate inventory return items in a timely manner. Coordinate inventory recall and corrective actions in a timely manner. Operate and coordinate the OR/ MMIS supply system(s) ensuring sound operation from acquisition to disposition. Participate in OR value analysis, product conversions, and new product introductions. Coordinate and implement vendor admittance to the hospital; ensure Vendor and Product Value Analysis policies are consistently applied. Collect, review and analyze data; make recommendations for department performance improvement; identify, resolve and communicate problems to appropriate teammates. Support, prepare for and participate in annual inventory activities. Other duties deemed necessary to ensure the department’s success. Qualifications
Education Bachelor of Science in Business Administration preferred; associate’s degree acceptable. Experience Minimum of three years’ Supply Chain experience in a surgical/procedural setting. Substantial knowledge of hospital peri-operative inventory control. Strong analytical skills; ability to troubleshoot problems; ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and interdisciplinary team members. Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Inventory and Financial Systems; experience with product standardization. Adherence to the organization’s code of conduct and dress code standards. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all UNC system departments. Ability to work independently and in an organized manner. Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, and stock without limitations. Proficient in Excel. Licensure/Registration/Certification
Valid North Carolina Driver's License (NCDL). Surgical Tech (ST) certification acceptable. Central Sterile Services Tech (CSST) certification acceptable. Physical Requirements
