Description
– The Public Relations & Content Coordinator assists with public relations, marketing campaigns, website maintenance and social media. This position plays a key role in developing the strategic marketing plan and evaluating its performance on an annual basis. Responsibilities
Maintain a communication/dissemination schedule for all email marketing under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Events. Manage all emails, including fundraising, events and regular monthly emails. Coordinate with membership manager on membership communications. Work with other departments to curate email lists. Create and curate social media content for all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) highlighting all areas of the zoo: animal care, the Green Team, AAZK, etc. Be responsible for working with other departments on website content. Monitor social media mentions and engagement. Manage community displays to promote the zoo. Coordinate volunteers to work displays. Maintain staff updates and disseminate monthly updates to all staff via an all-staff newsletter in coordination with the zoo’s graphic designer. Take regular photos/videos to keep the online collection up-to-date for media and social media use. Support the marketing team in implementing the strategic marketing plan and PR initiatives. Collaborate with the marketing team on creating and implementing short-term and long-term marketing plans. Supervise and assist interns by providing a well-rounded communications experience. Prepare executive reports on magazine, social media and email marketing ROIs, budgets, and related metrics. Qualifications
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing or related field. 1-3 years of experience in social media for an organization, writing and other public relations tasks. Videography and photography skills are preferred, along with knowledge of graphic design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.
