Overview
LHF Interiors is growing, and we’re looking to add an Interior Designer to our small, collaborative studio in Lafayette.
We specialize in high-end residential interiors and take a thoughtful, full-service approach to design, guiding clients from concept to completion. Our work blends refined aesthetics with custom craftsmanship, and we’re known for reimagining challenging layouts and unlocking the potential of underutilized spaces.
This is a full-time, in-person role for a designer who values collaboration, takes pride in the details, and is excited to grow within a close-knit studio environment. Strong design fundamentals and a proactive mindset matter most, and we’re open to training the right candidate on certain tools and workflows.
About the Role The Interior Designer plays a key role in executing projects under the creative direction and oversight of the Principal Designer. This role balances design execution, project coordination, and professional growth within a small, highly collaborative team. The position requires a passion for design, strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a disciplined work ethic. We value designers who are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a studio environment where collaboration and clear communication are essential.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the Principal Designer on design development across all phases of residential projects, managing multiple projects concurrently with guidance and support.
Translate design concepts into floor plans, detailed construction drawings, elevations, layouts, schedules, and specifications.
Create perspective views that clearly communicate design intent, including fixtures, finish selections, and furnishings.
Prepare, manage, and track project budgets in Excel.
Develop comprehensive design presentations for client meetings.
Source FF&E aligned with LHF’s aesthetic and client feedback.
Perform field measurements and thoroughly document as-built conditions, developing accurate as-built floor plans.
Conduct site visits as needed and provide installation oversight to ensure design intent and overall design integrity are maintained.
Manage Asana project checklists, including project organization, task assignments, deliverable scheduling, and monthly Gantt chart tracking.
Support in-person and remote client presentations by communicating design intent, guiding and educating clients on selections, and ensuring presentations are organized and run smoothly.
Record and email detailed meeting notes outlining design decisions, deliverable dates, and action items for follow-up.
Qualifications
3–5 years of residential interior design experience.
Bachelor’s degree or certification in Interior Design or a related field preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Asana, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat).
Experience with Chief Architect is a plus, and training can be provided for the right candidate.
Familiarity with trade manufacturers, workrooms, and showrooms.
Reliable transportation for site visits and meetings.
Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
$75,000–$90,000 annually. Full benefits included, along with mileage reimbursement, paid PTO, and paid studio holidays.
