Overview

Provide diagnostic imaging support to clinical physicians. Maintain clinical computer network for patient image system. Provide departmental computer hardware and software support. Supervise and direct ophthalmic photographer personnel. Essential Functions

Set up and assist providers with Fundus and Fluorescein Angiography (FA); process the film for interpretation by the physician. Coordinate and administer the usage of ophthalmic photographic equipment in the Department of Ophthalmology, assisting physicians, technicians, medical students and resident ophthalmologist to ensure proper usage. Maintain all equipment and machines to confirm they are properly functioning and ready for use. Maintain clinic supplies and equipment, ensure exam areas are appropriately stocked and identify expired supplies. Advise the Ophthalmology Department as to the most efficient and cost-effective means of operating the photography section, allowing for financial sustainability. Develop new procedures and techniques as well as modification and improvement of existing ones to allow for safety and completion of functions. Maintains overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols to allow for optimal experience of care. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) - Required Minimum one (1) year experience in Ophthalmic Photography.
