Overview
We’re a creative marketing agency with 25+ years of experience helping food and beverage brands grow through standout content, campaigns, and strategy—and video is at the center of how we bring those stories to life. Now we’re looking for a full-time
Videographer/Video Editor
to help us level up both our production and post-production output. If you’re a self-starter who can lead shoots from prep through wrap and also bring footage to life in the edit bay—this role is for you. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative and culinary teams to create polished, on-brand videos that perform across social, web, and campaign deliverables. This position blends hands-on studio production (camera, lighting, audio, set/props) with strong post-production editing and finishing. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple projects, staying organized, and delivering high-quality work on deadline. Job Type
Full-time salary Wage based on experience Local candidates only (Greater Detroit Area). Work to be completed on-site at Vimax Media, this is not a WFH opportunity. Primary Functions
Collaborate with our chefs on set to shoot 2–3 high-quality recipe videos per day, handling shot planning, setups, lighting, and audio. Plan and execute branding videos in collaboration with creative leads, producers, and our culinary team. Operate camera, lighting, and audio equipment; build prop/set-ups according to shoot specifications. Capture clean, usable footage and audio in a fast-paced studio environment (including green screen applications when needed). Assist our post-production team editing high-quality recipe and brand-driven videos from rough cut to final delivery, including pacing, story structure, and sound design (music, VO, SFX). Finish edits with color correction and audio mixing to meet platform specs across social, web, and campaign deliverables. Create motion graphics/animation and light VFX as needed (typography animation, compositing, clean-ups, screen replacements, stylized overlays). Use modern AI-enabled tools where appropriate to work smarter while maintaining high creative standards. Manage file organization, labeling, versioning, and smooth handoff/delivery for internal review and client-facing exports. Successful candidates will have the following attributes
5+ years of experience in videography and/or video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing both production and post. Strong understanding of pre-production planning, on-set production workflows, and professional studio etiquette. Experience with DSLR camera workflows (our studio uses Canon cameras, specifically the R5 and R5C), continuous lighting setups, and professional audio capture. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; strong working knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics/animation/VFX. Solid grasp of post-production workflows (proxies, codecs, exports, delivery specs, and versioning). Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven; able to manage multiple projects at once. Clear communicator and collaborative teammate who can work cross-functionally with creative and culinary partners. Comfort with evolving technologies and workflows, including AI-enabled post tools. Nice to have
Food/cooking familiarity (helping content look appetizing and authentic). Strong awareness of social-first editing trends and platform best practices. Photoshop skills for thumbnails, asset prep, and quick clean-ups. Experience with green screen workflows and/or more advanced compositing. To apply
Please send along with your resume to Zack Sweet (zsweet@vimaxmedia.com) and Jeff Scheiber (jscheiber@vimaxmedia.com): A brief note about your experience (especially production + editing + motion/animation work). Links to 2–3 relevant samples (food/recipe content is a plus). Your availability to work full-time, primarily on-site.
