Role Summary

Director, Oncology Strategic Initiatives at Pfizer will manage the R&D portfolio, design and implement business processes that facilitate product research, development, portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management. The role combines leadership and innovative thinking to drive Pfizer's R&D growth and create an environment where innovation thrives, delivering high-quality healthcare solutions and improving patients' lives. Responsibilities

Develop and lead/co-lead highly complex projects, creating mid-term plans that impact results. Leverage relationships to meet the needs of various business units, serving as an advisor to others. Make decisions in complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and recommend courses of action impacting business units. Act independently on self-initiated projects, using knowledge from others and exercising judgment in complex decisions. Review work for effectiveness and business impact, and evaluate the work of colleagues. Exercise foresight and judgment using knowledge and experience within business units. Lead division projects with unique complexity by developing innovative and original ideas. Create plans that significantly impact the division's achievements. Utilize intricate resource analytics to facilitate business and resource planning objectives. Support in solving complex problems and influence management/senior staff decisions. Qualifications

Required: BA/BS with at least 8 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 7 years of experience or PhD/JD with at least 5 years of experience or MD/DVM with at least 4 years of experience Required: Demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical Research and Development and product life cycle process Required: Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and communicate relevant business valuation and portfolio-related information/data to support decision-making processes Required: Strong influencing, networking, and team skills, including demonstrated experience of active contribution to successful projects Required: Ability to effectively lead global, short-term, matrixed project teams on tight timelines Required: Proven track record of managing complex projects and developing mid-term plans Required: Experience in leveraging relationships to meet the needs of various business units Preferred: A Master's degree with relevant pharmaceutical experience Preferred: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Preferred: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred: Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred: Experience in a leadership role within a global organization Preferred: Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement Preferred: Experience in developing and implementing business processes in a research and development environment Preferred: Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity; demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use Education
