Overview

Junior Estimator Purpose of Your Role: As a Junior Estimator, you will support the estimating team in developing accurate bids and proposals for information and communication technology (ICT) projects. This is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow into a future project estimator. You will work closely with experienced estimators and project managers to learn industry standards, estimating tools, and best practices in the low-voltage systems integration field. Responsibilities Blueprint & Specification Review

Assist in reviewing architectural drawings and specifications

Learn to identify relevant scope details and project components

Support in developing quantity takeoffs under supervision

Project Estimation

Help prepare preliminary cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment

Support the estimating team in inputting data into estimating software tools (e.g., Bluebeam)

Participate in internal discussions to understand project-specific challenges

Bid Preparation & Documentation

Organize and maintain bid folders, estimate files, and related documentation

Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to collect pricing quotes

Learn to outline basic qualifications and assumptions in bid proposals

Collaboration & Communication

Communicate effectively with the internal team, including operations, sales, and procurement

Participate in bid review and preconstruction meetings

Support site visits and virtual assessments when needed

Training & Growth

Pursue opportunities to expand knowledge of ICT systems, including structured cabling, fiber optics, AV, and access control

Work toward industry standards such as BICSI and ANSI

Receive ongoing mentorship and feedback to accelerate growth toward a full Estimator role

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with reading construction drawings preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Excel; exposure to estimating software is a plus

Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment

Strong attention to detail and time management

Preferred (but not required) Internship or relevant coursework in construction or estimating

Familiarity with low-voltage systems (data cabling, security, AV, access control, etc.)

OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain

Experience using Bluebeam or CAD

Career Progression

This position is designed as a launch point toward becoming a full Estimator within 12-24 months, with opportunities for advancement based on performance, skill development, and project involvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ogden, UT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
