Power Distribution Designer

Insight Global is looking for a Power Distribution Designer for a national engineering services firm supporting the power and energy sector in Greenville, SC. Candidates can expect to work 80% at their desk on design work (using tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation, Pole foreman) to complete various projects and 20% out in the field. Must Have Requirements – Minimum requirements for the role: 1-3 years of experience in power distribution design experience Experience with overhead and/or underground power distribution design experience Experience creating blueprint w/ AutoCAD or MicroStation Day-to-Day: Electric Distribution System Design: You'll perform standard electric distribution system design for a major electric utility company. This involves tasks such as extension, improvement, relocation, and removal of facilities, applying published standards and calculations using computer-aided design (CAD) methods alongside Smallworld-based GIS systems. Electrical Theory and Engineering Concepts: You'll apply general electrical theory principles and basic engineering concepts to your work. Reading Utility Plans: You'll read utility plans and records to understand existing infrastructure and requirements. Client Interaction: You'll interface with clients' work management systems and other design programs, prioritizing tasks based on customer needs. Collaboration and Communication: Working in a team environment, you'll openly communicate and collaborate with colleagues. Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented is crucial, especially when dealing with distribution systems. Strong Computer and Organizational Skills: You'll need proficiency in computer tools and strong organizational abilities.
