About TWHBEA The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) is a long-established, non-profit organization headquartered in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Our mission is to promote, preserve, and protect the heritage, standards, and versatility of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
We operate with a small, collaborative office staff and value individuals who are organized, dependable, and eager to contribute in a team-oriented environment.
Position Summary The Marketing Specialist / Graphic Designer is a creative, detail-oriented professional who supports TWHBEA’s marketing and communications efforts across print and digital platforms. This role plays a key part in producing the VOICE of the Tennessee Walking Horse magazine, managing visual content for email and social media, and assisting with website updates.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working within established brand guidelines, manages deadlines well, and brings fresh ideas to both print and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities
Design print and digital advertisements, layouts, and supporting content for the VOICE of the Tennessee Walking Horse magazine
Assist with magazine production using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, including ad placement, formatting, revisions, and proofing
Create, design, and schedule the weekly email newsletter, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
Develop and manage visual content for TWHBEA social media platforms, including graphics, simple animations, and post layouts
Assist with updating and maintaining content on the WordPress website, including uploading graphics, editing text, and formatting pages or posts
Collaborate with the communications team to ensure brand consistency across all platforms
Prepare files for print and digital distribution, ensuring proper specifications and quality control
Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a publication-driven environment
Assist with additional design, marketing, and event-related projects as needed, including support for association programs
Required Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
1–2 years of professional or internship experience in graphic design or a related field
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong emphasis on: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Working knowledge of WordPress or similar content management systems
Basic understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and social media scheduling tools is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established brand standards
Willingness to accept feedback and apply revisions efficiently
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with publications, newsletters, or print layouts
Basic understanding of social media best practices and content formatting
Familiarity with basic image optimization for web use
Interest in equine, agricultural, or association-based organizations is a plus
Physical Requirements This position may occasionally require light physical activity, including lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds, assisting with event setup or breakdown, and handling printed materials or supplies.
