Our community is a close-knit group of remarkable individuals driven by intellectual inquiry, a commitment to social justice, and a shared dedication to making a difference in the world.**Requirements****Job Overview** The Senior Engagement Advisor – Health Economist, Center for Global Health Practice and Impact, Georgetown University Medical Center – Georgetown University will serve as a strategic and technical leader supporting countries to reform their health systems and transition from external donor dependence to domestically led, financed, and sustainable health systems. The Advisor will provide on-demand technical assistance to governments and partners in designing, implementing, and monitoring reforms that strengthen domestic resource mobilization, expand fiscal space for health, catalyze private investment in health markets and optimize collaboration among public, private, and faith-based partners to build resilient and equitable health systems. This position requires a seasoned professional who combines deep technical expertise in health economics with strong policy, analytical, and engagement skills—capable of advising ministries of health and finance, multilateral partners, and private-sector actors on pathways toward sustainability and country ownership. The successful candidate will have the following competencies: * Deep understanding of the political economy of health financing and transition from aid to domestic resources.* Strong facilitation and negotiation skills with senior government and partner stakeholders.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultural and institutional settings.* Commitment to locally led development principles.* Experience with investment case development, cost-benefit analysis, or blended financing models.* Demonstrated leadership in capacity development and mentoring of early-career professionals.**Work Interactions** The position will report to the Director, Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (or equivalent senior leadership role) and work closely with faculty and staff across the university, various Ministries of Health, Finance, Trade Investment and Planning, as well as other external partners. **Requirements and Qualifications** ## *Minimum Qualifications:** PhD in Economics, preferably in Health Economics or a related discipline (e.g., Public Policy, Development Economics).* At least 5 years working in health economy and/policy consulting role in a senior position at a reputable international organization.* 10–15 years of progressive experience in health systems reform, health financing, or health economics in emerging economies* Proven experience working directly with government counterparts and multilateral development and finance organizations* Consulting experience in health market reforms &development, financing reforms, health market investment structuring or sustainability transitions.* Strong record of quantitative and data analytical skills, including economic modeling, statistical analysis, and policy impact evaluation.* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written outputs, including policy papers, strategic plans, and peer-reviewed publications.* Experience leading or facilitating strategic planning processes across government and development partners.Preferred Qualification:* *An additional degree in a health discipline is a strong advantage.****Work Mode Designation****This position has been designated as Hybrid.
