Protestant Director of Religious Education (DRE)

provides leadership, coordination, and day-to-day management of the Protestant Religious Education (RE) Program at Naval Base Guam Chapel. This position supports the spiritual formation of military members, families, and authorized participants by planning, developing, and executing religious education programs, coordinating volunteers, and promoting chapel-based education and fellowship opportunities. This is a full-time position supporting the U.S. Navy chapel mission and operates in close coordination with chapel staff, volunteers, and command leadership. This position is contingent upon contract award. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, develop, coordinate, and execute the Protestant Religious Education (RE) Program in support of Naval Base Guam Chapel. Provide day-to-day oversight of RE program operations, ensuring activities are organized, mission-aligned, and responsive to the needs of the military community. Recruit, train, supervise, and manage volunteers supporting Protestant religious education programs. Coordinate religious education classes, studies, and events for children, youth, and adults, as applicable. Publicize religious education programs and chapel events through appropriate communication channels. Maintain schedules, records, attendance data, and program documentation. Work collaboratively with chapel leadership, volunteers, and other chapel program staff. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Navy regulations, chapel policies, and applicable guidance. Conduct all interactions in a professional and respectful manner appropriate to a pluralistic military chapel environment. Education and/or Experience

Required: Demonstrated experience in Protestant religious education, Christian education, ministry leadership, or a closely related field. Experience developing, coordinating, and supporting religious education programs and activities. Experience supervising and working with volunteers. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural, and military environment. Ability to meet installation access and background requirements for Naval installations. Preferred Skills: Degree in Religious Education, Theology, Ministry, Christian Education, or a related discipline. Previous experience supporting military, chaplaincy, or government religious programs. Experience working in an overseas or cross-cultural setting. Work Environment

Fast-paced, mission-oriented environment serving active-duty military members, families, and authorized participants. Requires professionalism, adaptability, and sensitivity to diverse Protestant traditions within a pluralistic military chapel context. Position may require evening, weekend, and special event support based on chapel programming needs. Employment Conditions

This is an anticipated government contract support position and is contingent upon contract award. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks and installation access requirements. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional details will be provided upon contract award.
