Responsibilities
Take responsibility for creative concepts/solutions for complex architectural projects
Meet directly with the owner/client, analyze project goals, conceive and develop architectural concepts/solutions for those goals; initiate and create designs and other documentation with responsibility for preparation of presentation drawings, models and narratives
Provide senior leadership for all disciplines related to overall building design
Represent HDR by participating as a key member of the business development team in marketing to prospective owners/clients
Work with various disciplines throughout all phases to ensure concepts/solutions accommodate project needs and the owner’s program
Collaborate with the Director of Sports & Recreation on the development of market sector initiatives
Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations
Focus on client management and development, serving as a client manager and directly responsible for cultivating leads in alignment with the Sports & Recreation market sector strategic plan
Identify and develop project opportunities, serve as a pursuit champion, and act as the directly responsible individual for those pursuits
Assess the marketplace and determine the best business approach to winning new commissions
Collaborate with Sports & Recreation Principals to drive client development in support of new leads, opportunities, and pursuits
Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations
Develop relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations
Seek opportunities to enhance our practices to best perform within the marketplace and provide growth opportunities for junior staff
Assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective future employees
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Architecture
A minimum of 10 years design leadership experience
Experience in healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
Rhino and Grasshopper experience

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
A minimum of 10 years experience
Registered Architect
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
Excellent written and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
