KPLC 7 News seeks a producer to join an award-winning morning team. The producer will collaborate with news managers, fellow producers, reporters, photographers, and anchors to create high-quality, energetic, innovative, and authentic reports for broadcast and digital platforms. The producer is responsible for local newscasts production, managing on-air products, contributing story/segment ideas, assisting live crews, and content generation for all station platforms. The role requires quick and proactive response to breaking news, with skills in writing news and web copy, editing video for news and social media, and field shooting. This producer will also coordinate morning news segments – both live and recorded in the studio or on location. News judgment paired with creative presentation ideas is essential. Produce local newscasts and manage on-air presentation Contribute story and segment ideas; help live crew execute reports Generate content for all station platforms (broadcast and digital) Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news Write news and web copy; edit video for news and social media Shoot in the field as needed Coordinate morning news segments (live and recorded) in-studio or on location Apply News judgment with creative presentation ideas Qualifications/Requirements
