
About the Role
The Research Director leads cutting-edge clinical and health economics research that sets the standard for digital health evidence. You’ll study technologically-advanced interventions that are meaningfully impacting patient care and collaborate with a diverse and accomplished team of researchers. You have 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing interventional and observational studies, as well as performing secondary data analyses. You have published several papers in peer-reviewed journals as first or senior author. You have balanced research rigor with commercial needs and timeliness of results. You are beloved by staff for attention to their projects, career development, and wellbeing. What You''ll Accomplish
Publish impactful research that supports Hinge Health’s broader vision and commercial, product, and clinical strategy Design, implement, and manage a diverse portfolio of research projects that cover cost outcomes, clinical outcomes, and discovery research Guide the delivery and scaling of client-specific health economics studies that measure real world cost savings Communicate study results to internal (e.g., product, commercial) and external (e.g., prospective and existing clients, health plans, regulators) stakeholders via presentations, memos and publications Manage a team of clinical researchers, health economists and actuaries by providing project-specific guidance and professional development support Hinge Health Hybrid Model

Basic Qualifications
Research and technical You have a Masters degree or higher in a field of clinical research, health economic research, or health services research. You have extensive experience with conducting applied research using real world data or in real world settings. You present your results clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences You have acquired, managed, and used large, secondary datasets. You’re skilled at survey development and administration. You have experience reading and interpreting clinical and health economics studies Management: You have successfully managed teams of high-performing research staff. Business experience: You have demonstrated the ability to conduct research in a fast-paced business environment. Commercial: You’ve translated clinical and health economic findings into commercial messages and supported sales & marketing teams. Partnerships: You have a record of developing and cultivating relationships with research partners inside and outside the organization. Contracts and regulatory You have experience managing vendors/contractors, including developing clear scopes of work, and negotiating deliverables and budgets You have ensured compliance with regulatory and IRB requirements for research involving human subjects. Preferred Qualifications
Degree: You have an MD or PhD in a clinically-related field Research fields: You have conducted research in orthopedics, neurology, pain science, behavioral health, neurostimulation and/or healthcare economics. Digital health: You have experience researching digital tools and working in the digital health or health technology industry. Health economics: You are knowledgeable about complex (often messy) medical and pharmacy claims data and are familiar with cost impact analytics. FDA: You have experience demonstrating safety, performance, and quality requirements for FDA clearance and/or CE marking. Healthcare trends: You have a deep knowledge of current trends in healthcare, payer policy, and digital health. Compensation
This position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. The annual salary range is $252,000 - $378,000, and individual total compensation will vary based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. About Hinge Health
