Position Summary The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and business development for strategic regional accounts in North America. This position will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing account relationships as well as identifying and developing new business opportunities to support our growth objectives in the East Coast. This includes revenue and margin management, cross-team collaboration and project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and Drive Sales and Gross Profit at accounts within the Sales Territory to achieve and exceed annual sales and profitability budgets.
Ensure all financial and supply chain metrics are maintained and improved. (Including but not limited to inventory levels, trading terms, incentive schemes, lead times, risk management, etc.)
Maintain a high degree of direct call frequency in order to build multi-level relationships and strong customer intimacy.
Bring in Senior Management as required and map and articulate various decision matrices with the organization.
Develop winning sales strategies and account plans aligned with the overall company plans and the major brands/categories needs of the customer. Identify and exploit new business opportunities including "disruptive" ideas and approaches which increases the pace of growth and profitability and builds competitive barriers to entry.
Build internal support to the overall objectives of the major customers/territory and negotiate/motivate and enroll internal Symrise personnel behind these strategies. Responsible for priority setting and acts as a facilitator between Symrise functions and as required.
Responsible for the timely completion of all required reports, including but not limited to expense reports, quarterly reports, budgets, monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts, new business models, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, within flavors and/or food ingredients.
3+ years of proven experience in Key Account Management (KAM) and strategic planning within assigned territory.
Experience with sales of a technical ingredient which would involve working with R&D and Procurement.
B2B experience and demonstrated evidence of growth within assigned territories is a non-negotiable.
Prior exposure to global coordination and multi-market business strategies.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize structured account plans.
Strong ability to create and sell compelling business proposals.
Ability to align regional actions with global KAM priorities.
Ability to analyze market data, customer insights, and financial metrics.
Strong interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication and fluency in English. Additional languages (French, Spanish, German, etc.) are a plus.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-pressure commercial environment.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected annual salary range for this position is USD $150000.00 - USD $170000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
