Job Summary We are seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist/Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support, mentorship, and advocacy to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders or mental health challenges. As a Peer Specialist, you will use your lived experience to inspire hope, share coping strategies, and assist clients in achieving their recovery goals.
Qualifications
Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Specialist.
Lived experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Knowledge of recovery-oriented principles and practices.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in counseling or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients.
Provide individual and group support services to promote recovery.
Assist clients in developing and implementing recovery plans.
Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the organization and community.
Collaborate with treatment team members to ensure integrated care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance skills and knowledge.
Contribute to a positive and recovery-oriented work environment.
