MySQL HeatWave Sales Representative – Commercial Segment (OD Prime) The MySQL Sales Team has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Sales Account Executive to join our team! In this hybrid field/inside sales role, you will focus primarily on hunting for new business and driving business development for MySQL HeatWave Database Services—including MySQL license solutions—across a defined set of commercial accounts in North America. You will work in close partnership with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team to deliver comprehensive and innovative cloud solutions, maximizing value for our customers. MySQL HeatWave is a fully managed database service powered by the HeatWave in-memory query accelerator. It’s the only cloud service that combines transactions, real-time analytics across data warehouses and data lakes, and machine learning in one MySQL Database—without the complexity, latency, risks, and cost of ETL redundancy.

What you will do

Hunt for new business by identifying and targeting net-new commercial accounts and opportunities.

Lead business development activities to generate pipeline, win new customers, and expand market presence for MySQL HeatWave and MySQL license solutions.

Partner closely with the OCI team to develop joint value propositions and deliver integrated cloud platform solutions.

Foster a culture of sales excellence throughout all phases of the sales cycle.

Develop and deepen C-level relationships, demonstrating business impact and ROI in a compelling and engaging manner.

Serve as a key ambassador and spokesperson in building the MySQL brand within the commercial segment.

Drive revenue and market share in your territory.

Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.

Develop and execute comprehensive account and territory plans.

Build and articulate compelling value propositions around MySQL HeatWave services and MySQL licensing.

Accelerate customer adoption and maintain a robust sales pipeline.

Collaborate with Oracle partners to expand reach and drive adoption in commercial environments.

What you will bring

Proven business development and “hunter” skills with a record of winning net-new business in technology and cloud sales.

3+ years of direct sales experience in databases, cloud, or SaaS markets, selling to C-level executives within the commercial segment; experience in both field and inside sales models preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

Experience selling data analytics solutions is preferable.

Passion, drive, and a demonstrated ability to sell innovative technologies—including MySQL licensing solutions—to enterprise customers.

Ability to achieve ambitious targets, exhibiting strong leadership, execution, and the agility to experiment, adapt, and collaborate.

Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions to senior business and IT executives.

Effective interpersonal skills, collaborating seamlessly with both internal and external stakeholders to close new business.

Ability to travel up to 20% within North America.

Responsibilities Works to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory. Territory may be a combination of geographic, product, industry and other customer/market dimensions. Sells to the territory directly or via partners. The territory that this rep covers does not have an Inside Sales Rep or Field Rep. Utilizes inbound and/or outbound techniques to identify, qualify and close new opportunities. Manages accounts throughout the entire sales process, and collaborates with team members in business development, consulting and support to uncover all customer needs. Responsible for understanding Oracle's product offerings and competitive issues to develop solution proposals encompassing all aspects of the application. Travels to customer sites to identify/develop sales opportunities. Participates in the development, presentation, and sales of a value proposition. Onsite customer presentation with C-levels to negotiate and close strategic and complex deals. Liaises with customer contacts for the purpose of managing the customer relationship, identifying new opportunities and maximizing sales.

Qualifications

3+ years of direct sales experience in databases, cloud, or SaaS markets.

Ability to sell to C-level executives.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience in data analytics solutions is a plus.

Strong leadership and execution skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Travel up to 20% within North America.

Compensation and Benefits US: Hiring Range in USD from 33.85 – 54.13 per hour; $70,400 – 112,600 per year. Eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 50 / 50. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and location.
