Dawn's Market Sales Representative II (MSR II) is responsible for developing customer relationships and delivering mutually profitable sales activity within the defined territory. This is a customer-facing role that provides exceptional service, product knowledge, and customer satisfaction. Successful MSRs achieve results through consultative partnerships and addressing bakery customer needs by identifying profitable opportunities with existing customers and prospecting new accounts. Dawn's MSRs are outside sales representatives responsible for managing a territory associated with a distribution center and a greater commercial region. They promote Dawn's products, services, online ordering capabilities, and expanded portfolio of bakery solutions. Market Sales Representatives plan and implement sales and services for customers across accounts and report to a Market Sales Manager (MSM). Compensation is a salary plus commission plan. This is a remote position with field travel supporting the Boston, MA market, approximately 150 miles north, south, and west of the city. Candidates must reside in Boston, MA, or surrounding areas. Relocation assistance is not provided. What will you do as a Market Sales Representative II at Dawn Foods?
Continue to build a portfolio of customers to exceed sales and margin targets. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with baking industry customers across the assigned territory. Provide on-site consultation and sales expertise. Achieve profitable sales growth within the assigned territory. Develop and maintain profitable sales through prospecting new customers, penetrating existing accounts, and minimizing lost business. Calculate margins, negotiate terms, and prepare estimates and bids using Dawn's pricing models to meet specific customer needs. Represent, explain, and promote the entire Dawn value proposition. Use technology to drive Dawn's business, including: Promote and demonstrate Dawn's online ordering platform and capabilities to drive growth and expand the customer base. Document sales funnel activities and utilize enterprise CRM (Salesforce). Educate customers on the usage of our payment portal. Demonstrates and develops end-user understanding of customer-facing technology and applications. Understand, explain, and implement Dawn's credit policies and terms with customers. Remain aware of and navigate relevant regional market conditions, product trends, innovation, and competitors' products and activity. Develop and maintain a collaborative approach across teams and functions to build sales for the region, stay on budget, and maintain efficient costs. Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining accurate sales records, preparing reports, and filing expense reports. Participate in experiential learning opportunities to expand sales capabilities and product knowledge, applying that knowledge in customer interactions to drive sales. Demonstrate Dawn's Values and support the Dawn Circle of Excellence. Other duties as assigned. What Does It Take to be a Market Sales Representative II?
Minimum qualifications: A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) A minimum of 5 years of professional outside customer-facing sales experience, building a portfolio of customers Successful consultative sales experiences within B2B foodservice or similar distribution models Ability to navigate multiple software applications, user interfaces, and digital technologies Working knowledge of digital CRM solutions (i.e., Salesforce) Motivated self-starter able to work autonomously with limited supervision Prior experience in commissioned and/or performance-driven pay structures Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and customers Able to engage others with a personable, consultative approach for superior customer service English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension) Time management with competing priorities Understanding and calculation of sales and margins Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) Motivated by results, execution, and a finish-line mindset Preferences
Undergraduate degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Culinary Arts, or similar Understanding and/or hands-on experience with bakery products, raw materials, baking supplies, and bakery operations Spanish-speaking capabilities Physical Demands & Work Environment
