Job Summary The BD & Sales Associate for Space and Defense is responsible for the identification, qualification, and capture of business that leads to revenue growth across defense, commercial, and emerging space markets. Success is determined by the ability to drive near-term bookings while positioning Sidus as a long-term partner of choice across satellite manufacturing, hosted payloads, in-space services, data, and space-enabled infrastructure.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Develops and delivers comprehensive business plans to address customer and prospect priorities and pain points.

Develops effective and specific account plans to ensure revenue target delivery and sustainable growth.

Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Sidus Space’s products and services and brings that knowledge to bear in the pursuit of every sales opportunity.

Utilizes best practice sales models, understanding Sidus Space’s competition and effectively positions solutions against them.

Follows a disciplined approach to maintaining a rolling pipeline and keeps pipeline current and moving up the pipeline curve, leveraging support organizations including Marketing, Bid & Proposal, Partners and channels.

Effectively manages account and customer relationships to include use and maintenance of the CRM systems of record.

Deepens relationships with existing customers to expand revenue opportunities with current and future products and services.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree; technical discipline preferred.

1–3 years of experience in a technical, operational, or customer-facing role, including engineering, systems integration, mission operations, program support, or government contracting environments.

Proven ability to build strong professional relationships and understand customer requirements; prior sales experience is a plus but not required.

Demonstrated interest in customer engagement, business development, or solution-oriented problem solving.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Exposure to government or defense programs, contracts, or customers is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrates strong leadership in customer engagement by leveraging internal Sidus Space resources and partner capabilities to address customer needs with appropriate products and services.

Ability to establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships through technical credibility, responsiveness, and understanding of customer requirements and business objectives.

Capable of translating technical concepts into customer-relevant value, including the value of expertise, solutions, and implementation support.

Ability to develop and maintain a working understanding of each customer’s technical environment, mission objectives, growth plans, and competitive landscape.

Proficient in reviewing and analyzing publicly available information (e.g., executive appointments, earnings releases, press announcements) to stay informed on customer priorities and industry trends.

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Willingness and aptitude to develop sales, account management, and business development skills over time, with support from leadership and mentorship.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting or standing in an office environment

Ability to travel up to 50%
