Overview Abbey Fence & Deck has served the Baltimore metropolitan area for over 70 years, delivering high-quality fencing, decking, and access solutions to homeowners, businesses, and government clients across Maryland. Known for craftsmanship and professional service, Abbey operates one of the region's largest facilities and is focused on strengthening customer experience and operational excellence in its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
Attend scheduled residential estimate appointments with homeowners (no cold calling required)
Assess project needs on-site and guide customers through the best fence or deck solutions
Use company pricing tools to build accurate, professional estimates
Create thorough job documentation, including material lists and project specifications
Maintain ownership of the customer relationship from first visit through project handoff
Provide timely follow-up and professional communication throughout the sales process
Collaborate closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure a seamless transition to installation
Qualifications
2 or more years of sales, customer service, or client-facing experience
Personable and professional communicator who can educate and guide customers
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Highly organized with accurate documentation habits
Comfortable using mobile apps and digital tools for pricing and job records
Reliable transportation and the ability to manage a daily appointment schedule
Fence/deck or construction knowledge is a plus, but not required for fast learners
Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, W-2 Employment
Commission-based (10% of sales). Typical first-year earnings range from $80,000 to $120,000+, depending on performance. Includes hourly support during initial training/ramp period
Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday homeowner appointments as needed
Medical insurance
Performance-based bonus potential (biannual)
Eligibility for benefits after 90-day introductory period
