Summary The Technical Documentation Specialist will assist and support the Quality Engineers by providing First Article Inspection (FAI) and Bills of Materials (BOM) review process to assist the quality organization. This person will monitor processes, component and product quality problems and elevate to the supervisor as needed. This person will also gather documentation such as certifications and Certificates of Conformance (CFCs) to ensure print compliance. This position is mainly desk-based, involving a lot of documentation work to centralize information before a Quality Engineer approves it.

Detailed Description

Performs and reports in process and product first layer assessment.

Performs activities identified related to the Key process and product characteristics.

Ensures that implemented changes and corrective actions to rectify non-conformance issues are respected in the manufacturing line.

Performs First Article Assessment activities.

Supports internal, industry and customer audits as required.

Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to exercise good judgment in providing quality guidance.

Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers.

Knowledge and understanding of quality and manufacturing standards.

Good knowledge of computer applications and the ability to perform tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel.

Good knowledge and understanding of shop floor control and quality management documentation systems such as Infor.

Skills for evaluating, diagnosing, and solving problems encountered in manufacturing.

Well organized.

Physical Demands

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., keyboarding)

Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens.

Sustained visual concentration on numbers and legal documents.

The job works in a normal office environment with no undue exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, etc.

Typical Experience

1-3 years of relevant experience.
