Director of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) Location: Austin, TX (On-site) Only local candidates will ne reviewed at this time The Opportunity This is a true builder role for a senior SIOP leader who knows how to design, stand up, and run an integrated planning operating system—not just facilitate meetings. The Director of SIOP will own the end-to-end planning ecosystem that connects demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and financial outcomes. This role sits at the center of executive decision-making and is critical to driving predictable execution, disciplined working capital management, and scalable growth. What You’ll Own SIOP Strategy, Governance & Cadence Design, implement, and continuously mature a best-in-class SIOP framework aligned to business strategy and growth goals Establish clear planning horizons, decision rights, escalation paths, and governance standards Lead the full monthly SIOP cadence end-to-end, including demand, supply, inventory, reconciliation, and executive decision forums Serve as a trusted planning partner to executive leadership, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance Demand Planning Build demand planning methodologies suited for highly configurable, high-mix products Lead annual and rolling demand planning with Sales, incorporating assumptions, risks, and scenarios Improve forecast accuracy and bias while acknowledging inherent demand variability Translate customer demand signals into executable planning inputs Supply & Capacity Planning Convert demand plans into realistic supply and capacity plans across labor, equipment, workflows, and suppliers Lead rough-cut and mid-range capacity planning to identify constraints before they become issues Partner with Manufacturing on bottlenecks, takt times, staffing models, and capital constraints Proactively surface risks to service, lead time, throughput, and cost—and drive corrective action Inventory Strategy & Working Capital Define inventory strategies that balance service, lead time, asset utilization, and cash Establish stocking rules for shared components and sub-assemblies Own inventory targets, turns, safety stock policies, and excess & obsolete reduction efforts Evolve inventory policies as product mix, volume, and complexity change Systems Ownership & Planning Integrity Act as the functional owner of SIOP capabilities within the ERP environment Define and maintain planning parameters, item attributes, MRP logic, and master data standards Partner cross-functionally to ensure BOMs, routings, and item masters support executable plans Drive system-enabled, automated planning processes—reducing spreadsheet dependency Analytics, KPIs & Continuous Improvement Define and monitor KPIs such as forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, plan adherence, and capacity utilization Deliver clear, executive-level dashboards and insights Partner with Finance to align SIOP outputs with budgeting and financial forecasts Lead continuous improvement in planning rigor, analytics, and decision quality Leadership & Change Management Establish SIOP as a decision-making framework, not just a process Drive adoption, accountability, and cross-functional alignment Break down silos through clearly defined roles and shared ownership Train and coach stakeholders to ensure consistent execution Build a scalable foundation for future SIOP team growth What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred) 10+ years of progressive experience in SIOP, demand planning, supply planning, or IBP within manufacturing Proven success building and owning a formal SIOP process Experience in high-mix, configurable manufacturing environments (primarily MTO with selective MTS) Strong, hands-on experience with ERP-based planning systems Ability to balance customer service, operational execution, and financial outcomes Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset with a bias for action Confident communicator who can influence senior leaders and drive alignment Preferred Credentials Certified S&OP Professional (CSOP) APICS CSCP or equivalent Lean / Six Sigma certification Why This Role Matters This position directly shapes how the business plans, decides, and executes.
