
The Washington Examiner wishes to hire a Breaking News Reporter to add to its award-winning news team. This is a job for someone passionate about politics, policy and wider news in Washington D.C., America's heartland, and across the nation. They should already have a keen interest in the 2026 midterm election campaign. The right candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, pitching and authoring several stories a day, and have a keen understanding for what conservative readers want to read.
Role will include covering politics at both the national and local levels, general assignment news,
sport, media, entertainment and more. There will be potential opportunities to specialize in specific beats. Shifts will vary and the successful candidate should be comfortable working nights and weekends. The job is based in Washington D.C. although the Examiner currently offers a hybrid in office/at-home schedule. Annual salary approx $55,000. Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision and 401k.
