The Community Relations Manager is responsible for growing the community footprint in the region and producing engaging and exciting event experiences for RIFC and Centreville Bank Stadium. The Community Relations Manager develops, manages, and executes Rhode Island FC and Centreville Bank Stadium’s community engagement strategy, strengthening relationships with local organizations, driving meaningful impact, and enhancing the club’s visibility throughout Rhode Island and Southern New England. This role oversees community partnerships, manages fan-focused initiatives like Student Rush and Kids Club, leads in-stadium community activities, and supervises Street Team and event staff. The Community Relations Manager collaborates closely with marketing, ticketing, partnerships, and stadium operations to ensure alignment between community initiatives and organizational goals. Within the marketing and communications department, this role works to engage both existing and prospective fans to help deliver on business objectives. The Community Relations Manager coordinates projects, responsibilities and initiatives that support events at Centreville Bank Stadium. Key Responsibilities – Community Relations
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with local non-profits, schools, Chambers of Commerce, and other community organizations to support mutual promotion, fundraising initiatives, and collaborative events. Manage a detailed calendar of community events; oversee community speaking engagements and outreach programs involving the front office, mascot, coaching staff, and players. Plan and execute annual community engagement initiatives including the Student Rush program, Kids Club, Town Halls, and school reading programs. Coordinate the annual front office volunteer day to strengthen the RIFC and Centreville Bank Stadium community presence. Create sales and marketing strategies to grow Kids Club and Student Rush programs, setting annual growth targets for membership, events, ticket incentives, and exclusive benefits. Collaborate with the marketing team to increase program participation and foster long-term fan loyalty. Work with the marketing and stadium operations teams to plan and execute community-focused in-stadium entertainment including fan zone management, organizational appearances, charitable auctions, and 50/50 raffles. Engage with fans at stadium and community events to promote ticket sales, including group sales and fundraising ticket programs. Leverage community partnerships and club programs to meet ticket sales and participation targets. Hire, train, and manage the Street Team, mascot staff, gameday employees, and promotional associates to effectively represent the club and maximize community impact. Train and supervise community relations interns. Service ticketing and partnership departments to ensure all desired events are staffed and executed. Attend and manage events to evaluate effectiveness. Critical stadium event support: RIFC and Centreville Bank Stadium operate under a single sports and entertainment entity. As ONE TEAM, you will provide support and work as assigned on events for both Centreville Bank Stadium and Rhode Island FC. Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in community relations, event management, or fan engagement roles, preferably in sports or entertainment. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with community leaders, schools, and non-profit organizations. Experience planning and executing events, programs, or large-scale initiatives. Strong communication and public-speaking skills. Ability to collaborate across departments, including marketing, ticketing, and operations. Comfortable managing part-time staff, volunteers, and promotional teams. Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and community events. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment & Schedule
Role requires availability for all Rhode Island FC home games, community events, and select stadium events and regional appearances. Frequent evening, weekend, and holiday work required based on event and program schedules. Position is based in Rhode Island with regular in-person presence at the team office, stadium, and community sites.
