Responsibilities
Assembles, installs, services, and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. May diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs. Qualifications
Candidate must be local to the area; no per diem or relocation available Previous chiller experience a plus Current HVAC License - State of TX Valid Driver's License Industrial Maintenance experience preferred One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level) Written pre-employment qualification test Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Hazard Communication orientation/test Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87) Job site orientation Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.) Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.) Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place Tools/Equipment
Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, claw hammer, hand saw, framing square, level, tri square, torpedo level, measuring tape, nail pouch, plumb bob, gloves, nail bar, chalk box, tie wire pliers, hack-saw, pliers or vise grips, screw drivers, wood chisels, folding ruler or tape, crescent wrench, scaffold socket wrench and combination wrench, rain suit. Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reach in all directions, handle and manipulate objects and materials; lift 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carry objects and equipment; stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, kneel, crouch/squat; see with or without correction; hear with or without correction. Mental Involvement:
Knowledge of levels and transits; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting plans and blueprints; following oral and/or written directions; writing; recognizing and reporting safety hazards.
