What This Role Is… As a
Residential Designer , the primary function of this position is to create innovative design within the client’s budget, while maximizing revenue on City Furniture/Ashley Homestore products. The Residential Designer is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with vendors and internal cross-functional teams. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Sales - CITY Services Department at CITY Furniture.

Potential to make between $50,000-100,000 K or more (based on commission structure) PLUS mileage reimbursement
Must have a valid FL driver’s license
What You’ll Do… As a Residential Designer, your primary responsibilities will be to:
Prospecting/Sales – Help guests design a home they’ll love. Assist guests in finding the best financing options. Create invoices and schedule deliveries. Manage the CITY CRM System. Engage with customers. Attend networking events. Designers are responsible for closing their own business as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams. Collaborates with Sales Associates to promote the Design services. Prospects, Networks, Engages and gains new business by being available in the showroom and in event locations and/or by phone when Sales Associates have a lead. Present design solutions to clients and help the company close business. Increase invoice amounts and sell profit categories. Update boards in showrooms and communicate project progress with cross-functional teams. Meet predetermined sales goal expectations on a monthly basis. (50%)
Client Home Design – Create innovative designs within the client’s budget. Meet with clients, determine project requirements. Measure and draw floor plans to scale. Choose colors and develop a paint/color palette for the project. Provide additional design services including lighting, window treatments, wall coverings, cabinetry, and flooring if needed. Place furniture in the appropriate layout to best utilize space and satisfy functional and aesthetic needs. Select accessories and wall art. Accept delivery/installation of items if necessary. Provide exceptional customer service and handle objections well. Capable of designing based on client needs. (40%)
Additional duties and responsibilities as a Residential Designer
Product Knowledge – Stay up-to-date with new product information and industry news. Understand features and benefits to help fulfill customer needs. (5%)
Administrative Tasks – Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting. Complete timesheets, mileage reports, and design reporting, account management, project tracking, schedules. (5%)

What’s Required…
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
One to five years of experience in or from a related field is required.
Interior Design license preferred.
Custom Closet Design Background is a plus
Must be bilingual
Work Environment & Schedule:
Ability to work evenings and weekends as part of a flexible and accommodating full-time schedule
Navigate large showrooms and be on your feet 8 hours a day
40-hour-per-week schedule
50% travel
Physical Requirements:
Ability to guide customers throughout the showroom for extended periods. Some showrooms are very large, and associates may walk a lot in a day.
Technology Requirements:
Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Sketch Up, Design Files, AutoCAD or equivalent
iPad used for training, transactions, financing applications, inventory checks
Certifications / Licenses – Florida Driver’s License
