The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator develops and implements recruitment plans and supporting educational activities for the department. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Responsibilities
With direction from the Director(s), Recruitment & Education Committee, develops, implements, and monitors recruitment plans for specific Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center research activities, including underserved communities and groups. Responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships. Coordinates internal and external educational activities and programs to support recruitment initiatives and goals. Develops, provides, and updates educational needs for individuals in the community. Nurtures relationships between Rush and community groups in the Chicagoland area with a mutual interest in the research, education, and care of individuals and their families. Develops outcome measures for activity success and collects necessary outcome data for specific projects. Follow-up, including face-to-face contact, with all individuals interested in research activities after a presentation. Fosters research participant retention by conducting quarterly follow-up calls to participants and research sites. Serves as a resource for RADC staff and clients about research and education activities. Works closely with clinicians to ensure that each individual is adequately supported and aware of internal and external services and programs available. Identifies and develops referrals and resource opportunities in assigned region to include speaking engagements, event participation and sponsorships. Uses population demographics to target areas for outreach. Analyzes statistics and measurable data for efficacy of outreach and adjusts strategy accordingly. Maintains records of all opportunities, community outreach activities, and potential clients in a database. Tracks and reports on financial, referral, and outreach metrics. Performs other related educational and recruitment activities as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Two years of relevant work experience required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary to build mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse group of people including health care professions, caregivers, and research staff. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work as a member of a team. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Local and/or out of state travel may be required.
