Join us as a Superintendent I, where you'll support Senior Superintendents and lead key components of multi-family residential and mixed-use projects from the ground up.This is a great opportunity for someone with a foundation in construction who’s ready to take ownership, solve problems, and grow into a leadership role on projects.What You’ll Do:Identify root causes of jobsite issues (safety hazards, delays, quality concerns) and implement proactive solutionsSupervise subcontractor performance, productivity, and scheduling on assigned scopesCollaborate with Senior Superintendents and project managers to review and adjust construction schedulesEnforce quality control standards for all phases of construction—framing, roofing, finishes, and moreManage RFIs and ensure communication flows smoothly across the project teamMaintain accurate site documentation and logs using ProCoreSupport inspections and maintain compliance with municipal, state, and federal safety standardsWhat We’re Looking For:1+ year of experience in residential constructionHigh school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferredOSHA 30-hour certification required; Construction Supervisor License a plusThis person needs an active driver's licenseStrong leadership and communication skillsComfortable with construction documentation, schedules, and safety protocolsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction tech platformsAble to read plans, solve problems, and stay calm under pressurePhysical & Work Environment:Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and lift up to 30 poundsComfortable navigating active construction sites, including rooftops and tight spacesOccasional evening or weekend work may be requiredExposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions—PPE and training providedHow AvalonBay Supports YouWe know that our teams are the beating heart of our success and we’re committed to showing our appreciation.We offer:Comprehensive benefits — health, dental and vision, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement, an employee stock purchase plan and more.
