Job Summary/Description: Eastern Carolina's #1 news station, WITN News, is seeking a dynamic multimedia journalist to lead our New Bern bureau as our next chief. We are looking for someone who pursues current events, develops hard news lead stories, and reports beyond press releases. The ideal candidate communicates well, has a passion for videography, and understands social media. This position involves making public records requests, examining documents and agendas, and finding stories that truly matter to people. It is for someone who loves finding stories, pitching them, and then reporting, shooting, and editing them. Live shots daily. The successful candidate must be organized, driven, creative, and an active content creator. Duties/Responsibilities (illustrative): Developing sources and contacts for a bureau that covers Craven, Pamlico, and Carteret counties Reporting live daily for multiple newscasts Shooting, writing, editing, and posting stories Working under strict deadline pressure Coordination with the news director for bureau upkeep Qualifications/Requirements: Good writing skills Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field Self-starter skills Knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment, as well as content management systems and social media You MUST provide a link to your resume reel MVR check will be run If you feel you’re qualified and want to work with a great group of people, go to the Gray TV careers site and current openings to apply; you may type in the job title, station call letters, or click on "Apply now" to upload your resume, cover letter, and references.
