
Overview
Groundswell Contact is seeking a Lead Director with site-based signature collection and validation campaign experience to lead a team of paid canvassers in collecting signatures to help secure ballot access for a progressive Democratic candidate. Responsibilities
Interview, hire and train canvassers. Set their schedules, and manage their day to day work collecting signatures at high-traffic locations Identify locations and develop site plans for canvassers on a daily basis to ensure program success Utilize various apps and tools to accurately track your teams work, overall progress to goal, create internal and client facing reports and communicate up and down the chain of command Spend approximately 12 hours per week in the field collecting signatures, demonstrating best practices for the team, and ensuring quality control Architect the daily debrief system petition review and notary; and lead and execute the validation and quality control component of the program Maintain prompt, daily communications re: progress to goal, validation and quality control with Groundswell Contact President. Collaborate with team members to achieve daily and weekly outreach goals Keep up-to-date with current political events and issues, identify and access security needs for your team. Experience
At least 6 months combined experience in a leadership role executing signature collection campaigns Some experience with the signature validation process A working knowledge of NGP-VAN (Voter Activation Network) Experience with site-based canvassing and the ability to develop site-site plans for canvassing teams Experience managing canvassers, schedules and facilitating field training Requirements
Must have license and access to a registered and insured personal vehicle due to local travel requirements Must not have been disbarred within the last 7 years, or have ever been convicted of political fraud or identity theft. Must be eligible to work within the United States. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work evenings and weekends A smartphone and reliable transportation and willingness to travel in assigned territory Passion for political activism and community engagement Physical Demands
Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs Ability to lift and carry canvassing materials (up to 25 pounds)
