Overview

Director of Wellness - RN (Security) Edencrest at The Legacy seeks a Director of Wellness to oversee clinical operations. This role also oversees Edencrest at Riverwoods in Des Moines, IA. Lead with compassion, accountability, and purpose as you guide nursing teams and ensure high-quality resident care in a multi-site setting.

Responsibilities

Lead Clinical Excellence : Oversee and direct all nursing and clinical services, ensure quality care and regulatory compliance; develop and implement care plans, policies, and procedures; monitor clinical outcomes and drive performance through data and quality metrics.

Build & Support a Strong Team : Recruit, hire, train, and mentor nursing staff; provide regular performance feedback and ongoing education; promote a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with mission and values.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Maintain readiness for state and federal surveys; ensure documentation, procedures, and staffing meet standards; lead QAPI initiatives and follow up on audits, plans of correction, and incident investigations; collaborate with medical directors, pharmacy consultants, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Collaborate Across Departments : Partner with other department leaders to support interdisciplinary communication and resident-centered care; work with Executive Director and corporate teams on staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning; participate in care conferences, family meetings, and community events as a clinical leader and advocate.

Support Resident Wellness & Satisfaction : Build strong relationships with residents and families; ensure needs and concerns are heard and addressed; foster a culture of dignity, independence, and holistic care.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; current RN license in the state of employment required; CPR certification and knowledge of infection control best practices required.

Experience & Leadership : Minimum 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in skilled nursing or long-term care; proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, training, and clinical compliance.

Skills & Competencies : Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, survey processes, and QAPI initiatives; excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead by example and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
