Posted Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 5:00 AM Y-Haven provides temporary housing and drug and alcohol treatment to adults in Cuyahoga County who are most in need. Formed in 1993 by the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, Y-Haven has helped thousands recover from addiction, secure permanent housing, and re-build their lives. Y-Haven offers healing and hope.

Position Summary

Provide operational direction to the Y-Haven Recovery Housing program, including the Rising Hope and Open Door programs. Rising Hope Recovery Housing provides sober housing and support to 70 men and women in recovery from opioid dependency. Open Door serves 45 men and 10 women who are formerly incarcerated who need sober support and a place to live.

Responsibilities

Assure Recovery Housing programs meet their program outcome goals, including enrollment and census requirements, employment, permanent housing, relapse prevention, overdose prevention, etc.

Ensure Recovery Housing programs meet Y-Haven/YMCA goals of serving the whole person (Mind/Body/Spirit), fostering a welcoming and hospitable community, and treating all persons with dignity and respect.

Monitor and maintain operational aspects for the Recovery Housing program including resident housing, program fees, outcome data management, resident referrals and admissions, medication monitoring compliance, monthly reports.

Hire, train and supervise clinical staff and lead team to achievement of program goals: recovery, employment and permanent housing.

Act as program liaison with collaborating and referral agencies such as: Office of Community Re-Entry, Adult Parole Authority, Cuyahoga County Probation, US Pre-trial and Probation, Homeless Coordinated Intake, ADAMHS Board, treatment and detox programs, local prisons, and other local agencies.

Supervise clinical employees in providing clinical services and other assigned tasks and duties, monitor site operation and scheduling and verify time sheets and actual hours worked.

Participate in rotating clinical “on-call” duties.

Identify training needs and initiate development activities of supervisees. Recommend effective personnel management actions (i.e. employee counseling process).

Ensure duties, responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are defined and understood. Ensure that the individual understands the standards for acceptable performance.

Notify Human Resource Department of job openings and coordinate hiring and interview process. Collaborate in making final selection of qualified staff.

Keep employees informed as to association and branch events, plans and progress on organizational goals.

Administrative

Prepare monthly reports for demographic information, outcomes, enrollment and program fee statistics.

Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Recovery Housing program (including Rising Hope Open Door Re-Entry program).

Assist with program fee assessment and collection.

Participate on Y-Haven Leadership Team.

Attend community meetings to represent Rising Hope and Open Door programs.

Program

Ensure the program maintains at least 90% enrollment through development of successful referral sources, outreach activities, and intake processes. Participate in weekly admission process.

Work with clinical team and Clinical Director to meet program outcome goals: relapse and overdose prevention, employment, permanent housing, etc.

Ensure program maintains a clean, safe, hospitable and sober environment.

Abide by all funder, insurance and government regulations and requirements for services provided.

Coordinate with Y-Haven Operations Director for Resident Assistant (RA) and Maintenance services and the Y-Haven Clinical Director for Case Management and Treatment services. The Operations Director supervises all maintenance and RA staff and the Clinical Director oversees clinical supervision to all Y-Haven programs.

General: Be visibly involved with residents and staff in a positive, friendly manner that communicates and demonstrates the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Follow all established policies and procedures, including safety practices and personnel policies. Participate in and support association events and fund raising activities. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Secure required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field.

Experience:

Experience working with those in recovery and those who are formerly incarcerated. Minimum of two years’ experience required in providing social service program management and supervision. Previous experience in starting new programs is preferred.

Certification(s) & Requirements:

State independent licensure in social work or chemical dependency preferred (LPCC, LICDC, and LISW). CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire. Must be free from sanctions or exclusions from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the State of Ohio Department of Medicaid.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required. Knowledge of resources in Cuyahoga County. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics. Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions. Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel and bend for long periods. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment: Ability to work in a moderate to noisy work environment. May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather.
