Overview

We are seeking a collaborative Urban Designer with 1–3 years of experience to join Mithun’s interdisciplinary team. In this role, you will help advance resilient urbanism and equitable growth across a range of projects, from community, corridor, and public realm plans to district-scale work. Projects emphasize both design and implementation and may include transit-oriented and sustainable urban development, mixed-use environments and infrastructure and public realm design. We currently collaborate in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays can be in-office or WFH for most roles. About Mithun

Support Urban Design projects and contribute to the success of an interdisciplinary design team through data gathering, research, analysis and providing creative support and assistance throughout the design process. Perform design studies to support the team developing concept and framework plans. Develop analytical and design graphics. Contribute to the preparation of design documentation and client materials. Coordinate input and produce revisions to drawings, project deliverables, and materials. Participate in community engagement workshops and charrettes. Communicate urban design concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders. Provide attention to varied needs for private, public, institutional and non-profit clients. Work collaboratively with designers and project team members, including architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and urban designers, supporting multiple projects and project types in a variety of design phases. Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning, urban design, landscape architecture or architecture. 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in urban design or architecture. Strong understanding of systems thinking. Excellent communication and time management skills. Demonstrated experience working at the district scale (e.g., 10+ acres). Experience preparing presentation materials, reports, research, and analyses. Proficiency in 3D modeling and parametric design tools. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), Rhino, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), and GIS. Nice-to-haves (but not required)

Proficiency with Revit. Post-graduate professional experience is highly desirable. Experience with community engagement. Active involvement in professional organizations such as APA, AIA, ASLA, or ULI. Please include your portfolio and resume with your application.
