Summary:
Global responsibility to identify and develop new business opportunities with key customers and new OEMs. The Components Business Development Leader will drive revenue growth by growing business with existing customers, discovering new customers, exploring untapped markets and industries, and collaborating with the current Grayhill sales team, manufacturer sales representatives and distributors. The role also entails adhering to established reporting and forecasting processes established by the Grayhill Sales department, advocating for customer satisfaction, maintaining ethical business practices, ensuring strict legal compliance throughout the sales process, and following all Grayhill Travel and employment related policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Customer Relationship Management
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers. Create relationships with new companies in our target markets. Attend customer sponsored supplier days, events, showcases and tradeshows. Market Research and Analysis
Analyzing market trends and identifying new business opportunities. Conducting competitor analysis to stay ahead in the industry. Locate key companies within our target markets, document headquarters and design center locations, and gather relevant contact information. Sales Strategy Development
Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive business growth. Setting sales targets and monitoring performance against those targets. Attend Trades shows and assist with booth duty, coordination, customer meetings and customer interactions. Business Development
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the Business Unit. Collaborating with Grayhill sales and marketing teams to expand business reach. Working with current Manufactures Representatives and Distribution Channels servicing Business Unit customers. Ensure timely preparation of quotes, proposals, technical documentation and other customer requests. Monitor distributor sales reports and other intelligence that may lead to new business opportunities, increased sales, or a competitive advantage. Negotiation and Contract Management
Prepare proposals, negotiating contracts and closing deals with potential clients with VP/BUL approval and guidance. Managing contractual agreements to ensure both parties meet their obligations. Reporting and Forecasting
Preparing detailed reports on business performance. Forecasting future sales and business growth. Ensure Manufactures Representatives are accurately reporting on new and existing business opportunities. Cross-functional Collaboration
Working closely with various departments such as marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure cohesive business strategies. Working with current Manufactures Representatives and Distribution Channels servicing Business Unit customers. Coordinate with other Grayhill Sales Leaders and Sales Engineers. Coordinate new quotes issued to customers from customer service and sales engineers. Coordinate with Grayhill customer service associates to ensure accurate order entry and pricing. Ensure new customers, contacts and locations are accurate in C4C for all BUL customers. Working with the business unit project leaders and engineering groups for technical support and project updates. Customer Advocacy
Championing customer feedback and advocating for improvements in products and services. Must be able to travel between 25% - 50% of the time. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (engineering preferred), master's degree in business preferred. 5-10 years sales operations experience and/or training; or extensive project management/customer interaction required. Experience driving workflow efficiencies and best practices for sales teams strongly desired. Preferred Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with marketing and business intelligence teams In-depth knowledge of the specific industry the business operates in. Ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders including senior management Sales and Negotiation: Strong skills in sales, negotiation, and closing deals. Market Analysis: Proficiency in market research and analysis to identify business opportunities. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Networking: Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement business strategies.
