KTEN, the NBC, ABC, and CW affiliates in the Sherman–Ada DMA, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support the maintenance, operation, and installation of technical broadcast systems at our studio and transmission facilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, and capable of working independently as well as part of our engineering team. This position reports to the Chief Engineer and supports day-to-day technical operations across all KTEN facilities. Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform routine and corrective maintenance on studio, transmission, and broadcast support equipment. Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of broadcast and IT-related systems. Support operation and maintenance of RF transmission systems, including transmitters, antennas, microwave links, and associated equipment. Monitor broadcast signals and respond to technical issues affecting on-air operations. Troubleshoot audio, video, RF, networking, and computer-related technical problems. Support maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems related to broadcast facilities. Maintain technical documentation, schematics, and equipment records. Assist with coordination of outside contractors and vendors as needed. Support other departments’ technical needs to ensure station operations and goals are met. Assist viewers with over-the-air or cable/satellite/streaming reception issues as needed. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours or emergency technical issues. Requirements and Skills

Working knowledge of broadcast television systems and FCC regulations. Experience maintaining or supporting broadcast RF transmission systems preferred. Prior experience in broadcast operations (Master Control, Engineering, or Technical Operations) preferred. Two-year trade school, technical school, associate degree, or equivalent experience in electronics, broadcast engineering, or a related field preferred. Ability to safely work with high AC, DC, and RF voltages. General knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and electrical infrastructure. Working knowledge of IT systems, computer networking, and IP-based broadcast technologies. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and under time constraints. Strong communication skills and ability to document technical work clearly. Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. Work Schedule
