The Role: The Senior Staff Product Operations Manager; Portfolio, Roadmaps & Resourcingis responsible for leading cross-portfoliooperating mechanisms that connect strategy to execution across Product, Engineering, Design, andProgram Management (PMO). You willconsolidateportfolio strategy, steward roadmap governance, and drive the quarterly resourcing and prioritization process.This role requires a seasoned product operations leader who can influence senior stakeholders,establishcrisp governance rhythms, and produceexecutive-gradeinsights that improve portfolio outcomes at scale. This role serves as a system steward for portfolio governance and resource alignment, ensuring Global Productoperateswith consistent standards, predictable cadences, and transparent decision flows across all pillars. We’relooking for a proactive, detail-orientedindividualcontributor who thrives in fast-paced environments, makes principled decisions, and builds consensus across diverse teams.A bias for simplifying complexity and improving operational clarity is essential,as your work will directly shape howGM’s Global Product organizationand supporting teamsoperate. WhatYou’llDo: Portfolio & Strategy Consolidation Synthesize strategies across sub‑portfolios to reveal interdependencies, risks, and opportunities.

Partner with Corporate Strategy and Strategic Risk Management on strategic analyses and projects that shape portfolio direction.

Resourcing & Prioritization Lead quarterly cross‑portfolio resourcing reviews, delivering clear demand‑vs‑capacity views, trade‑offs, and portfolio‑level allocation decisions.

Run an integrated intake, sizing, and validation process (e.g., T‑shirt sizing, capacity checks) with Program Management and Engineering, ensuring decisions are reflected in systems of record.

Own product inputs to annual budgeting,long-term plan (LTP), and the 5‑year outlook, translating strategic priorities intoconsolidatedresourcing and capacity requirements.

Portfolio Assessment Maintain a repeatable assessment framework:market signals, customer value, velocity, quality, and financials;to inform continue/accelerate/pause recommendations.

Produce comparative analysesacross org-level product portfoliosto guide senior‑level prioritization.

Roadmap Governance, Quality,& Tooling Define and run the governance cadence linking discovery, strategy, execution, and shipping.

Integrate Engineering, Design, and PMO rhythms tomaintaina single sourceof truth for portfolio roadmaps and dependencies.

Drive roadmap and artifact quality standards, ensuring high‑fidelity data in systems of record.

Collaborate to implement a unified roadmap tool and continually improve supporting practices, templates, and workflows.

Coach teams on decision‑ready artifacts and executive‑level storytelling; escalate gaps and remove blockers to preserve portfolio flow.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) 10+ years in product operations, portfolio management, or adjacent disciplines (e.g., Program/Portfolio PMO), with demonstrable impact across complex, multiproduct portfolios.

Provenexpertiseinestablishinggovernance cadences, integratingcross-functionalplanning (Product/Eng/Design/PMO), and driving executive decision forums.

Advancedproficiencywith portfolio analytics and performance measurement (KSIs, KPIs, OKRs) andtranslating insights into action.

Proven experience solving complex problems with multiple constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks and present well-structured, data-informed,written arguments.

Skilled inidentifyingkey data and metrics necessary for decision-making and understanding the implications of their movement.

Strong communicationand storytelling abilities, with a talent for articulating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Experience leading through influence, driving results cross-functionally without a team of direct reports.

Hybrid:

This role is categorized ashybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report toWarren Tech Center, MI or Mountain View, CAthree times per week, at minimum. Compensation:

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area. The salary range for this role is $178,800 to $322,500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
