Role Summary
Senior Manager MedTech Procurement, Marketing Category, Agencies and Media, located in New Brunswick, NJ. Responsible for developing and executing category strategies for MedTech Marketing – Agencies and Media, managing supplier relationships, delivering cost savings, and ensuring compliance with MedTech procurement standards. Partners with senior stakeholders to align procurement strategy with business priorities and leads performance management and change initiatives. Location flexibility includes Raritan, NJ or Titusville, NJ with weekly travel to New Brunswick. Responsibilities
Category Management: Lead the strategy and execution of MedTech Marketing – Agencies and Media category and related sub-categories / commodities. Design forward-looking strategies that balance cost, growth, risk, speed, and sustainability; socialize and adopt procurement strategies across the business. Value Creation & Cost Optimization: Develop and leverage deep expertise to identify and implement cost-saving measures and establish a robust value delivery pipeline. Outside-in Perspective: Identify critical industry market and supply trends and embed them into category strategies to maintain sustainable relevance for MedTech. Sourcing: Lead and oversee the Agile Team and Global Services Team on the operational execution of global category strategies, including sourcing events and negotiations. Strategic Negotiations: Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations for owned categories, ensuring value creation, risk mitigation, compliance, and strong relationships. Contracting: Monitor supplier contracts and lead negotiations as needed. Supplier Relationship Management: Lead supplier relationship management to ensure speed-to-value, risk management, and performance. Supplier Innovation & Partnership: Build strategic supplier partnerships that unlock innovation and bring value. Cash Flow Improvement: Deliver cash-flow improvements by optimizing payment terms with suppliers. Functional Leadership: Support the J&J One Procurement strategy and execute joint collaborative initiatives. Performance Management: Own delivery against procurement performance targets; establish dashboards and lead reviews to ensure targets are met. Risk, Compliance & Governance: Uphold ethical sourcing, data privacy, anti-bribery/anti-corruption standards, and procurement governance; proactively address regional risks. Digital & Capabilities: Identify opportunities to advance digital capabilities in category strategies, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation to drive speed, precision, and innovation. Qualifications
Required: Relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Business, Engineering, Science) with minimum 8 years of professional experience; experience inside and outside Procurement across multiple sectors; strong supplier management background. Preferred: MBA or Master’s qualification. Skills
Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management. Proven track record delivering cost savings, mitigating risk, and improving supplier performance through category strategies. Strong understanding of sourcing processes, contract lifecycle management, and supplier governance across diverse indirect spend. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills; ability to partner with Marketing, Legal, Finance. Strong negotiation skills with experience managing complex supplier relationships and high-value contracts. Ability to engage and negotiate value-enhancing relationships with suppliers. Strong business acumen; ability to align sourcing initiatives with organizational goals. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present to and influence senior leadership. Proficiency with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and comfort working with data in Excel; familiarity with analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau; AI tools a plus. Strong data analysis/visualization skills (Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with Gen AI/Agentic AI tools. Additional Requirements
