The role of Pastor of Mobilization and Engagement at Bethany Church exists to turn gospel momentum into lived-out mission—helping people move from attending to belonging and from belonging to serving with purpose. In a fast-growing, multi-generational church, this leader will design clear, compelling pathways that connect newcomers into authentic community and mobilize the congregation for meaningful ministry. This role sits at the intersections of discipleship, connection and outreach, championing small groups, volunteer pipelines and leadership development so no one gets lost in the growth. It is both deeply pastoral and highly strategic—shepherding people well while building sustainable systems that multiply impact. From equipping people to discover their gifts to mobilizing the church to serve La Crosse and beyond, this pastor helps the body of Christ come alive in action. Teaching, collaboration and relational leadership are central, as this role partners closely with staff and lay leaders to fuel long-term health and mission. The Candidate

Bethany is eager to welcome an energetic pastor who is passionate about seeing people connect to Christ and His Church. This is a leader who is ready to jump in and is excited to try to keep up with all God is doing in this congregation and community. Bethany desires to add a leader who sees people and their unique gifts and abilities. This pastor will bring experience developing processes and systems that develop and equip congregants for ministry and raise up leaders. As a person who is energized by relationships, this pastor will make connections easily and take joy in giving ministry away. This person will seize the opportunity to work collaboratively with other experienced pastors and leaders, and also take initiative in their areas of responsibility. A clear, engaging communicator, this pastor will champion vision, provide clear direction for their teams, be a strong teacher and also be capable of preaching when called upon. The Qualifications

A theological master’s degree is preferred but not required. Undergraduate degree required, and if not possessing a theological master’s degree, an undergraduate degree in ministry is preferred. If not ordained in the EFCA, be open to pursuing ordination upon arrival. Spiritually and relationally mature. Possess high emotional intelligence. Be a spiritual leader who focuses on the primary points of theology and allows secondary issues to stay secondary. Strong communication skills are critical and experience in preaching/teaching will be an asset. This will be a leader who preferably brings experience in one or more roles including: discipleship, first impressions, hospitality, assimilation, outreach and/or missions. About this Church

Attendance: 1,150 in person, (plus online viewers) About: Bethany offers four worship services each Sunday morning at 8:15, 9:15, 9:45 and 11:15. Affiliation: EFCA The services are identical with live preaching. The 9:15 a.m. service is held in the chapel and has a more laid-back environment. A prayer service at 10:30 a.m. is also available for congregants/staff to come and go. This is a space dedicated to intentional prayer for the community, the church and also to connect with a pastor/leader to receive specific prayer.
