General Summary The Sales Manager is a manager-level role, responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and managing key specialty and core accounts while supporting the broader sales strategy of the organization in the majors & value channels. This position is based out of the Irvine office and requires travel. The Sales Manager will work closely with internal leadership, external sales representatives, and cross-functional teams to develop and execute account strategies, manage sales performance, and support value and major accounts in partnership with the Vice President of Sales. This role requires strong initiative, sales leadership, relationship management, strategic planning capabilities, analysis of sales/stock and other financial metrics. Essential Job Functions
Develop, manage, and maintain strong relationships with assigned core and specialty accounts Create, execute, and manage sales strategies and account plans aligned with company objectives and revenue targets Oversee and support external sales representatives, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, account execution, and performance expectations Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales on value and major accounts, including pricing strategy, growth initiatives, daily needs related to account meetings and follow up, and long-term planning Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, sell-through data, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, production, sales ops, planning, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful execution of sales initiatives Attend industry trade shows, sales meetings, account line reviews, and key customer visits as required Deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales forecasts and business recaps Provide ongoing insight into the competitive landscape, customer feedback, and evolving specialty retail dynamics Ensure timely and accurate order management, including pre-book and replenishment fulfillment, issue resolution, and account support Travel as required to support account relationships, sales initiatives, and business needs Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven sales experience managing core and specialty retail accounts Strong leadership and relationship-building skills, including experience working with external sales representatives Excellent analytical, financial, and forecasting skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; ERP experience a plus Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within apparel, footwear, or specialty retail environments Prior experience managing specialty and/or core accounts required Action sports experience preferred but not required Previous leadership or manager-level experience preferred La Jolla Group offers a comprehensive benefits package for regular, full-time employees designed to support overall well-being and work-life balance.
