The Director of Human Services at the Korean Women's Association (KWA) plays a pivotal role in ensuring programmatic quality, regulatory compliance, and fiscal accountability across both established and emerging service areas. This leader is responsible for shaping KWA’s future service model, moving beyond legacy program administration to create an integrated, accountable, and future-ready framework that promotes growth and innovation. Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership in program expansion, redesign, and integration, while ensuring that services are culturally responsive and grounded in equity. The Director oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements and leads proactive risk management strategies to prepare for audits and monitoring visits. Additionally, this role requires fiscal stewardship to ensure sustainability and diversification of funding sources while fostering a high-performance, trauma-informed workforce. By representing KWA in external relations, this leader influences local policy discussions, ultimately driving long-term community impact and enhancing well-being for immigrant and underserved populations. Successful candidates will have a strong track record in managing multiple programs and funding streams, alongside demonstrated expertise in overseeing government contracts, grants, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Experience leading culturally and linguistically diverse teams, particularly in service to immigrant, refugee, and limited-English proficiency communities, is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have a proven ability to build strategic partnerships with foundations, agencies, and advisory bodies to expand KWA’s service reach and impact. Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are strongly preferred. Strong executive engagement skills are necessary to prepare clear, data-informed reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, translating complex issues into actionable insights for decision-making. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: - Education: Bachelor’s degree required in public administration, human services, social work, public health, business, or a related field. - Master’s degree preferred;

Experience , Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in human services, public sector, or complex nonprofit environments. Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple programs and funding streams concurrently. Proven success managing government contracts, grants, compliance, and audits. - Experience leading culturally and linguistically diverse teams and serving diverse communities. Experience working with immigrant, refugee and limited-English-proficiency communities. Experience partnering with foundations, county, state, and federal agencies. Bilingual or multilingual capability strongly preferred but not required. - Experience leading programs through growth, restructuring. Build and maintain strategic partnerships that expand service reach, funding and impact. Represent KWA in coalitions, advisory bodies and regional planning efforts. - Executive & Board Engagement. Serve as a senior advisor to the Executive Director on human and community services strategy, risk management and growth opportunities. Prepare clear data-informed reports and presentations for the Board of Directors and board committees. - Translate complex programmatic regulatory and funding issues into actionable insights for executive and board-level decision-making.
